I was in the pool!

Even though this blog has been idol for over a month now, it has been thriving in my head. You see my writing time has been nonexistent because the interns started working here May 8th. Which means that I have company here in the office all day now as opposed to until 2:30 or so. It’s really cut down on my internet surfing in general. So while I’m here I wanted to touch on a couple of points.

First, the NBA Finals. Dallas looks like they could sweep this series. While I don’t see that happening (I see Shaq putting up a throw back night in one of these games in Miami) this won’t go past five. Miami just looks like they have to work too hard on both ends of the floor to get anything. Dallas is just too quick. Their offense is more fluid and their defense is stouter. And when did Antoine Walker forget how to finish at the hoop? Anytime he does actually take it inside he looks like JJ Redick careening out of control and throwing one off of the backboard. (Speaking of JJ, nice job on the DUI. I was more surprised that it wasn’t for pot possession. His parents are hippies after all.)

Second, I have to admit that I have been watching the World Cup and enjoying it. I’m in to the games to the point that I’m yelling at countries like the Ivory Coast. And I give all of the credit to FIFA for Xbox 360. I love that game. I’m actually considering buying it for my PS2. While the US shit the bed against the Czechs, the rest of the Cup has been great. I was a big fan of the Swiss’s defensive job on the much more heralded French team today (that still hasn’t scored since the 1998 final). Great defense by both teams; who would have thought that a 0-0 game would get me so excited?

That’s all I’ve got time for now. I’m going to try to make some more time for this. I need something to get me away now and then.
