Moore is Better

I found out today that Herman Moore is from Danville. Grew up here, went to George Washington High School, signed his letter of intent to UVA here. But yet I've been here since May and this is the first I've heard of this. How is that? Is this town so insanely proud of Johnny Newman and Ferrell Edmunds that it just forgot to mention Herman. The reason I did hear about him is because he's being inducted into the Danville Sports Hall of Fame. So congrats to Herman.

I'm really looking forward to the Magic/Cavs game coming up Friday on ESPN. I don't get to watch the Cavs unless their on TNT, ESPN, or playing either the Bullets or Bobcats. What makes this even better though is getting to see Dwight Howard. I couldn't be more pleased with what he's done for my fantasy league team, but more than that he just seems so much better already than he was last year. I thought that he was a beast last season, but this year he is destroying people. I was pretty impressed with the 20-20 game the other night. The Magic better get some pieces around him so he doesn't bolt for Atlanta when his contracts up.

I really like the food at Thanksgiving. Seeing family is great, but I always look forward to the food most of all. Turkey is fantastic. The food was my saving grace during last year's Thanksgiving celebration at my wife's friend's house. Good times.

Ohio State-Michigan is Saturday. I always sweat this game. And this is eerily similar to the 2003 game. OSU comes in with a shot at the Big Ten Title and a BCS bid. UM is a little down and playing at home. Obviously OSU lost that game. Which is usually the way it works. With the exception of 2002, everytime OSU has had something to lose going into this game they've lost the game. This is what I grew up with.

My wife is a "big" UM fan. I use the term "big" loosely because she's just one of those UM fans. You know, the kind of people that started rooting for them because its cool. She claims she is a UM fan because her family is all OSU fans. If this is the case then why isn't she a Steelers fan? Kills me. Any ways, she not a good loser and doesn't take ribbing well at all. So its good times for me if the Bucks win.

I didn't get a real good look last night, but did Smush Parker get rid of his part? I hope not, that's his signature.

I really hate how all of these college football games get played in the middle of the week now. I'm a big MAC fan and I understand that this is the only way for most of the small schools to get on TV. But I still hate it. If I were still in school I'd love it because it would mean getting drunk on a Tuesday night, or at least having a good excuse to do so.

I played in some YMCA pick up games one afternoon my senior year of high school with a guy that could have been Sam Perkins's brother. Looked very similar, wasn't nearly as tall, but had an identical shot. Maybe it was a distant cousin. We even called him Big Smooth all afternoon and he loved it.

I've started watching The Office on NBC. Its a pretty awesome show. Any show that has the line, "I went out and got drunk with my laser tag team last night." in it is awesome in my book.

Is Duke that good, or is Seton Hall that bad? That was the question that I came away from last night's NIT game with. I think SHU is that bad. They'll have a rough time in the revamped Big East this season.
